PEI Gas, furnace oil prices go up

The Island Regulatory & Appeals Commission cites increased wholesale pricing as the reason by their latest fuel price adjustment.

  • Gasoline prices will increase by 1.5 cents per litre (cpl);
  • Furnace and stove oil prices will increase by 2.3 cpl;
  • Diesel prices will increase by 2.9 cpl; and
  • Propane prices will increase by 1.0 cpl for Superior Propane, by 0.5 cpl for Kenmac Energy Inc. and by 0.5 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing.

Pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will range from 126.6 cpl to 127.8 cpl.  Which puts PEI’s prices at the highest in the region but still lower than other markets across the country.

PEI – 127.8 cpl

Halifax – 123.4 cpl

Moncton – 126.3 cpl

Montreal – 135.3 cpl

Ottawa – 117.3 cpl

Vancouver – 149.4 cpl
