Don’t say they only ever make unscheduled adjustments to raise prices. The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission isn’t supposed to change PEI fuel prices until Thursday but decided Monday that it had to happen sooner.
Which is why at midnight on Tuesday morning they announced the following adjustments.
- Gasoline prices will decrease by 5.5 cents per litre (cpl);
- Furnace and Stove Oil prices will decrease by 5.0 cpl; and
- Diesel prices will decrease by 5.0 cpl.
Pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 112.8 cpl to 114.0 cpl. Pump prices for diesel will range from 122.1 cpl to 123.3 cpl.
Significant decreases in the wholesale prices of gasoline, furnace oil and diesel since the Commission’s last adjustment now afford the unscheduled price decreases announced today.
We’ll see what this means for Thursday’s scheduled price adjustment.
