The City of Charlottetown is selling Rain Barrels

The City of Charlottetown Water and Sewer Utility has approximately twenty-five rain barrels remaining through the spring rain barrel sale that launched at the beginning of May.

Rain barrels are designed to collect rainwater from existing downspouts. Multiple barrels can be added together to increase storage capacity, especially for residents and businesses who consume larger amounts of water for outdoor needs. The City’s rain barrels can hold 208 litres of water. Water used from rain barrels is not subject to the Seasonal Water Restrictions that will come into effect on June 1.
Rain barrels can be pre-purchased for $65, including HST, while supplies last. The pick-up date has not yet been confirmed, but will be communicated directly with those who purchase a rain barrel. All residents and business owners in Charlottetown are eligible to purchase up to three rain barrels. To purchase a rain barrel, call the Water and Sewer Utility Department at 902-629-4014.
