National Cupcake Day™
February 27, 2017
Bake Cupcakes. Raise Donations. Stop Cruelty. Save Animals’ Lives.
A day when indulging your sweet tooth is entirely guilt-free.
Do you hate Mondays? Here’s your chance to get up and moving for loveable animals in need while having fun with your friends, family and colleagues. Monday, February 27th, is National Cupcake Day™ in support of SPCA’s and Humane Societies across Canada including your local shelter, the PEI Humane Society.
How can you help homeless animals? It’s pretty darn easy. Just dust off your apron and start baking. Last year groups and individuals across the Island raised $17,000. Just bring your cupcakes to wherever people congregate including offices, restaurants, community clubs, bakeries, pet stores, schools and family celebrations. It’s simple; people eat a tasty cupcake and then leave a donation for homeless animals. You don’t even have to collect cash, set up a custom fundraising page so supporters can donate right online. Community donations keep shelter doors open and staff can focus on animal protection, enrichment, shelter and veterinarian care. Last year some groups took pre-orders, selling to their neighbors and even made edible cupcakes for the neighborhood pups. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to organize a party. You can still fight animal cruelty by treating yourself to cupcakes from participating businesses or groups! Buy the office a box of morning delicacies to compliment a hot cup of coffee!
The PEI Humane Society will be selling cupcakes on Monday, February 27th at the Confederation Court Mall in downtown Charlottetown. Delicious cupcakes baked by volunteers will be available to purchase by donation.
