October 30, 2020 @ 4:30 pm

Friday at 4:30 PM
Public · Hosted by Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI
MCPEI, the PEI Writers’ Guild, and TD Bank, are thrilled to host a FREE writing workshop for the Epekwitk Mi’kmaq community with PEI’s very own Patti Larsen!
Patti Larsen is a multiple award-winning writer with over 130 titles in publication, internationally!
Are you an aspiring writer? Are you curious about the industry? Do you have a brain full of story ideas and you’re not sure what to do with them? Look no further!
Not only will you get to take part in an awesome, free, professional writing workshop, you’ll also get a free pizza dinner and swag bag filled with literary goodness!
We’re happy to announce that PEI’s Poet Laureate, Julie Pellissier-Lush will be opening the workshop with her own words of wisdom following the recent publication of her second book, “Mi’kmaq Campfire Stories of Prince Edward Island.”
Following Julie, we’ll be enjoying a condensed version of Patti Larsen’s workshop “Book Done 101.” Read on for more info!
“Book Done 101
As writers, we leap into new ideas with passion and commitment. But there are times when, despite our best efforts, we begin with the best intentions only to find ourselves lost and frustrated, not knowing where to take our brilliant idea, finally forced to abandon it for the next wonderful story that lures us onward.
This program will help you evolve your idea from the core construct to the finished product. No more aimless wandering, no more worry you’ve missed something important. And no more worry you won’t be able to finish. I take you, step by step, through my process, the process I’ve developed over years of experience, adding the best of my varied education to give you the means to get your book done.”
Space is limited, so please contact communications@mcpei.ca to register!
